Austenite
I finished Persuasion. It was awesome and achieved what I thought was impossible: rivaling Pride and Prejudice as my favourite Jane Austen. It was just that good. The main character Anne was a bit of a wimp, I just wanted her to speak up so many times, but over all it was great.
Speaking of Pride and Prejudice the trailer for the new movie starring Keira Knightley is up. I'm annoyed because it looks good and now I'm going to have to go spend my money on it. If you want to check it out you can find it here.
I invented a very yummy pizza like thing tonight. I made up some pizza dough when I got home, and used peanut sauce instead of tomato. Then I put on pineapple, peanuts, jalapeno peppers, onions, garlic, tofu and then garlic chives and lemon basil from my garden. And it was really tasty. I'm very impressed with myself. I thought it might be a disaster without some sort of cheese on top. I thought all the toppings were going to fall off. But they didn't. Which is good cause I couldn't really think of a kind of cheese that would go with the peanut sauce.
So yeah, just call me chef Tessa.
That sounds very tasty. I am afraid I am going to have to copy you.
I have to admit it's always good to see Donald Sutherland in the cast. It almost always garantees a certain charm. Judi Dench is also very charming. :)
I didn't know they were re-doing Pride and Prejudice! I recently came across Bride and Prejudice in my library's catalogue, though. It's apparently a Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice.
Persuasion has always been my favorite. I have the 1995 movie version with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds and I swear I could watch it 30 times a day. After I watched it for the first time, I searched everywhere for Ciaran Hinds in other movies, but he never again played the romantic lead. He was the main character in one of the Jane Eyre versions though.
Anick, I love that movie. My mom owns it and I made her bring into town on her last visit.
Anna and I were discussing it and Anna came up with the idea that if they do make a new movie of Persuasion, Clive Owen would make a fantastic Captain Wentworth. The very thought makes me swoon.
You'll probably be disappointed to find out that I had to look him up to figure out who Clive Owen was. I think I've only seen him in Gosford Park and the Bourne Identity and the Internet Movie Database's picture of him isn't very flattering, so you'll have to wait until I've had a chance to really see him act before I give you my opinion on this.
