merely talk

On Friday night I started watching the Muppets Wizard of Oz. I didn't make it too far really, mostly because it was pretty bad. The only thing it did do really, was make me want to see the original again. It had some witticisms but overall not really worth my time and I turned it off after about a half an hour. In the end I haven't really liked a Muppet Special in years, but fond memories of the Muppet Show and all those awesome Muppet movies like "Muppets take Manhattan", and "A Muppets Christmas Carol", always lead me to tune into them. Sigh.

Also on Friday night, one of my favourite people drove into the city to visit me for the long weekend. Lena, my oldest friend, decided she missed me and somehow found an affordable way to get out here to visit me. Which is totally awesome. I hadn't realized how much I'd been missing her until she got here.

We went shopping on Saturday down on fourth. Which was fun, Lena is on the hunt for Cappachino cups, but is so picky she wasn't able to find anything that appealed to her. I was on the hunt for pots for plants. After shopping me made a fantastic meal and then headed downtown to meet up with a couple of my cousins. My cousin Tom was in town for a job interview. The company was putting him up in a sweet hotel so we hung out in his room for awhile before heading out on the town. We ended up settling at The Atlantic Trap. It was a kinda funky place that thinks it's in Halifax. There was a pretty good band playing the usual covers: Spirit of the West, Van Morrison, various Celtic folk songs. It was a lot of fun and I ended up drinking a bit too much.

I bought some herbs for my windowsill today. I'm pretty excited about it. I also got one of these. It's super cool looking, and doesn't have roots. I'm very impressed with myself for getting some more plants. I really want to be a good gardener. Ooh I sense a new hobby coming on.
