Getting out of the House

I went to Tokyo Lounge last night with Janice and some of her friends. It was a lot of fun, even though both of us were dead tired and we got some un-wanted company at our table. It was a pretty cool club, if not a little weird. We walked right past it at first, because the sign was pretty non-existent. The only tip off was the giant scary looking bouncers in the front. Then once we went in, they had to scan the elevator to let us get up to the third floor, where the club was located. Weird.

The DJ was pretty cool, and we didn't have to pay cover which was cool. Drinks were in the usually Vancouver price range, meaning brutally expensive, but the couches were nice. It was fun. It's been awhile since I've gone clubbing, I wish I had been more in the mood, but whatever.

I've discovered a new band: Supreme Beings of Leisure. Not only do they the best band name ever, but the music is good too. My brother has also introduced me to Metric, who I also highly recommend.

Oh and does anyone have a copy of "The Way You Are" by 46bliss. I'm having a bitch of a time finding it.

I'm total east cost (yeah, I know, very sad indeed), so I don't know much about the "Vancouver price range". How much do drinks actually cost there?

My small highball last night cost $5.75. Which is usual. However I heard that one of my favourite clubs has $2 highballs on Tuesday, so I think I'll be checking that out. Who needs to sleep, right?

Helen - I downloaded that song you recommended on your blog by Feist. It is indeed very cool.

Ivy and Old 97's are also getting a lot of play by me these days.
