Birthday Woo!

So I turned another year older a few short days ago. I have to say the entire birthday endeavor was a success.

On Saturday Anick and I headed out to Blue Plate Diner for dinner, and then went to go see Music and Lyrics. And the movie was pretty good. The romantic comedies of late have been anything but inspiring, so it was nice to see a happy feel good movie with singing. However the best part of the movie was the first three minutes... which I found online the next day.

On Sunday I had a little get together at the Black Dog. Amanda and I had a joint party, and as such had control of the pretty much the entire top floor. I had a fantastic night, drank a bit too much, saw some people I have been missing terribly, and got some pretty wicked presents.

All in all a good weekend, which didn't make getting up for work today at all easier.

Sigh.

Fortunately I have Hugh Grant up there to make me laugh.

Wow...

I'm not even sure what to say about this.

I think my favourite quote was about Betty Friedan:

“Friedan was from her college days, and until her mid-30s, a Stalinist Marxist, the political intimate of the leaders of America’s Cold War fifth column and for a time even the lover of a young Communist physicist working on atomic bomb projects in Berkeley’s radiation lab with J. Robert Oppenheimer.”
