Buttons for Everyone!

So for the last few months I have been working with some lovely ladies on a little project to raise awareness about consent laws and sexual assault. On Wednesday we showed off all our hard work.
We made six different types of buttons that advocated for consent, which was so much fun my dears. I desperately want a button making machine now (Aprig was kind enough to let us borrow theirs for free). One of our group members navigated through all the red tape to get us a table in the SUB and once there we gave out our lovely buttons to all who wanted them. We even collected donations for the Campus Sexual Assault Centre.
I was so impressed about the feedback we got from the general campus community. I feel very spoiled in my Women's Studies classes, but it was fantastic to get so much support from other students. What's even better is seeing people I don't know wearing our buttons as I wonder around campus or in my classes.
This little project was for one of my classes. One of the best parts of the Women's Studies program here at the U of A is the component of activism required of us. Ten percent of my mark in this class is due to raising awarness. I love that they not only teach us about what's wrong with society, but they expect us to do something to fix it.
Seriously. I think this activism thing may be my calling. Does it pay well?
